Drink more Water
There are many water substitutes – mineral drinks, alcoholic beverages, local beverages, etc. Although these may quench thirst, they cannot and do not replace the use of water. Water is vital and very important for healthy living. Drinking water at various times of the day have great health benefits. For instance, drinking water in the morning upon waking up have amazing therapeutic effects for a multitude of health conditions-ranging from pain to asthma to cancer. I had this uncle who never took water. He lived on mineral water (Fanta). One day, he woke up, prayed with the family, drank his mineral water, and few minutes later was found dead on the chair. I am not saying that he died because of the drink, but one cannot rule out the possibility! Adequate water intake, apart from preserving health, also positively affect people suffering from arthritis, epilepsy, bronchitis, Tuberculosis (TB), meningitis, diarrhea, etc. Researches have shown that water therapy can cure these conditions very rapidly on its own—with no other medical treatments. For instance, water therapy can alleviate constipation within a single day, diabetes within one week, and hypertension, asthma, piles and even cancer within a few months. These are possible as water is involved in every function of our bodies and our bodies contains 70 percent of water, muscles 75 percent; brain cells contain 85 percent water, blood contains approximately 82 percent water, even our bones contain 25 percent water. Furthermore, drinking water increases the production of new blood and muscle cells, helps with weight loss as water enhances body’s ability to burn calories, and. Water also increases the efficiency of the immune system, is useful in ulcer and digestive problems management, is the main lubricant in the joint spaces and helps prevent arthritis and back pain. In general, water helps to prevent certain cancers and kidney disorders; and drinking water raises the body’s metabolism. Drinking enough water is not just a good advice, but a healthy habit as it prevents dehydration that slows bodily functions and metabolism. Our bodies need adequate amount of water to properly function, especially during exercise, and drinking water regularly flushes toxins from your body’s system, including those produced during exercise; keeps joints lubricated—very important for both daily functions and in preventing injuries during exercise. Understand therefore that drinking water is critical to healthy living as drinking water is vital to weight loss. And for those on regular exercise program, drinking adequate amount of water is extremely important. It is recommended that you drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water as you wake up in the morning (even without brushing the teeth). The aged or sick that are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at once can begin with a little glass and gradually increase to 4 glasses per day. It goes without saying that the better the quality of water you consume, the better the results you’ll experience. Substitutes are not good alternatives.
